Let's Stop Bullying!

Interactive CD for primary schools which helps to promote the anti-bullying message.

Schools can now use elearning credits (eLCs) to buy this resource.
The CD gives advice on rights and responsibilities, and what young people should do if they feel unsafe or are being bullied.

Schools can add their own information on the steps they take to ensure a safe and happy environment, and to list the ways in which young people can seek help and advice within their own school.

The CD uses text, voiceover, photographs and video clips. Activities and a short quiz help to reinforce the learning and confirm understanding of the anti-bullying message.

"The CD is set up so you can even get your pupils actively involved in presenting their own anti-bullying programme. It offers an imaginative and flexible way to get your message across to all members of the school community."

The Times Educational Supplement, September 2004

The interactive programme helps to ensure that:

  • All young people are aware that the school has an anti-bullying policy and understand the main points of the policy
  • All young people know they have a right to feel safe and secure in a non-threatening environment
  • All young people know what to do and who to speak to should they feel uncomfortable
  • All school staff are aware of the need to work together to ensure that the positive behaviour and anti-bullying policies are upheld
  • Parents are reassured that the school is actively encouraging the anti-bullying policy and a positive learning environment

The CD can be used in a number of ways:

  • By individual children on a one-to-one basis
  • By a teacher with a small group of children
  • By a teacher with a class of children, using a projector and a large screen
  • As the basis for further classroom activities promoting positive behaviour

The presentation contains standard information (approved by the Anti-Bullying Network), along with a section for each school to add their own information.

The simple and easy-to-use method of inserting information relevant to the school is password protected and is designed to be easily updated by non-technical staff.
